NATURE OF GOD

Yesterday I arose and was unable to work on writing because my computer has been down all week. I sat in my office looking out the window waiting for the time to go to the funeral home for the celebration service of one of our dear ladies Sister Reba whom God chose to carry home to glory. Outside I heard an owl hooting softly, I heard the neighborhood dogs barking, and I looked out my window and saw a woodpecker busy at work pecking away for nourishment.

All of this caught my attention and for a few minutes I was captivated by nature and looked at the handiwork of God as he provides for the needs of all creation. This beautiful little bird was braving the morning chill and basking in the sunshine that God was providing. What harmony I beheld as nature took its course. It was like music to my ears as I listened and watched. What contentment each of these creations demonstrated. I thought, isn’t our God wonderful!

This was a wonderful start of my day. I thought Lord; teach us to take time to enjoy you and all creation each day. I believe that regardless of the circumstances we face each morning if we will just take a moment and enjoy God we will have an enriched day. As you have your morning coffee or tea; take time to receive of the Lord the strength for the day.

Just think you can talk to the Lord about anything. His lines of communication are completely open. He is ready to forgive you if you need forgiveness, he is ready to heal you, he is ready to lead you and he is ready to listen to you. Take time for God, take time to listen to him as he directs your steps today. Take courage as meditate on Psalm 130:5 this week. “I wait for the Lord, my soul doth wait, and in his word do I hope.”

Guess what? My little woodpecker just arrived again and his head is bobbing away as I write. Have a good day in Jesus

Lord Give Us That We Need Today #460

LORD GIVE US THAT WE HAVE NEED OF TODAY

Hum! Have you ever woke up in the morning and simply said” Lord what do I have need of today?” As I think about writing each week I continually ask the Lord to give me something you as a very diverse reading audience need to hear to help you in life’s journey today. Sometimes it clicks right away and sometimes I have to wait on the Lord.

The song says, “They that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength, they shall rise up with wings as eagles. They shall run and not grow weary, they shall walk and not faint, teach me Lord, teach me Lord to wait.”

These are powerful words that strike the heart and will give us strength when we practice it in our lives each day. Join me in the word for a moment. Psalm 40

1I waited patiently for the LORD; and he inclined unto me, and heard my cry.
2He brought me up also out of an horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set
my feet upon a rock, and established my goings.
3And he hath put a new song in my mouth, even praise unto our God: many shall see it, and fear, and shall trust in the LORD.
4Blessed is that man that maketh the LORD his trust, and respecteth not the proud, nor such as turn aside to lies.

This makes me want to sing, “Look what the Lord has done.” God is so
wonderful! He picks us up, puts our feet on a solid rock, and establishes our goings. I often wonder how anyone can fail to see God. I want to sing a new song to him and have a continual praise unto him as he feeds me with his love and care. Thank you Lord for I am blessed to know you as my Lord and Savior and soon coming King. To God be the glory in this world and in the world to come. Amen.

cleanse us from all unrighteousness."

GIVING TO THE NEEDY #459

GIVING TO THE NEEDY #459011107

Matthew 6:1-4
1Take heed that ye do not your alms before men, to be seen of them: otherwise ye have no reward of your Father which is in heaven.

2Therefore when thou doest thine alms, do not sound a trumpet before thee, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory of men. Verily I say unto you, they have their reward.

3But when thou doest alms let not thy left hand know what thy right hand doeth:

4That thine alms may be in secret: and thy Father which seeth in secret himself shall reward thee openly.

There are hurting people everywhere. What a great opportunity there is to show the love of Jesus when we are able to help those in need. When we think of giving to the needy we think of giving of things such as food clothing and shelter. This is vital and important but we also need to give of ourselves and time to assist those God entrust us with each day.

Many businesses and individuals today are willing to give as long as they receive publicity and proper credit. But the Bible teaches us to give with the right heart and in the right way even if we never receive any earthly reward or credit.

When one gives from the heart they don’t need it published in the media and they don’t need a big thank you card; one simply provides the need because it is the right thing to do and goes on their way with or without fanfare.

What a thrill it is to follow this principal and allow God to bless us openly. It is God that has given to us that we may give to others. God’s reward is greater than any halo man may give us or any words he may bestow upon us.

So, when you give; rejoice in the Lord and allow Him to reward you as he continues to bless you and provide for your needs each day. Oh! What a God He is! His rewards are beyond measure.
