Jesus is the way to the Father

John 14:1-14

1Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.

2In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.

3And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.

4And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know.

5Thomas saith unto him, Lord, we know not whither thou goest; and how can we know the way?

6Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

7If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him.

8Philip saith unto him, Lord, show us the Father, and it sufficeth us.

9Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Show us the Father?

10Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me?

the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works.

11Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father in me: or else believe me for the very works' sake.

12Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.

13And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.

14If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.

These verses are very exciting as we see Jesus continuing to instruct his disciples. Today we need this same encouragement as we struggle with life. Our hearts and minds need to remain fixed on Jesus as we believe in God. “Let not your heart be troubled.” Lean not on your own understanding.”

I know with so many having lost their homes, jobs, and much more we are tempted to question why? Perhaps you are confused as Peter, Philip, and Thomas were as they asked their questions and Jesus prepared them for the days ahead.

Folks, Jesus is the way, the truth and our light. Let us stay focused on Him knowing he is preparing a place for us that we will receive if we remain faithful unto Him. Just think he trusts you to follow Him and win the whole world to Him. That is the one thing he left us to do.

Did you know whatever is going on in your life, whether you are in a valley or on a mountain top, new doors open for you each day to share the greatest gift to mankind? Remember his name is Jesus as you travel on your journey and Jesus is the sweetest name I know.

Yes, Jesus, our Lord and Savior and soon coming King. Continue to proclaim him as you are blessed as Jesus makes a way for you. Jesus said “Ask in my name and receive of Him.” Do you believe in Him? Will you proclaim my heart is not troubled because I believe in God? Allow God to minister to you right now and provide whatsoever you need in Jesus name I pray.

Remember:

1John 1:9 “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”

Handbook 2009 56704262009

#56704262009

I found this interesting a few days ago when I received it. After watching my grandson lie in the hospital this weekend and realizing how God blessed us to keep him and the miracle that he is breathing I decided to share this with you.

Now, I’ve got to work on practicing what I preach.

HANDBOOK 2009
Health:
1. Drink plenty of water.
2. Eat breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince and dinner like a beggar.
3. Eat more foods that grow on trees and plants and eat less food that is manufactured in plants.
4. Live with the 3 E's -- Energy, Enthusiasm and Empathy.
5. Make time to pray.
6. Play more games.
7. Read more books than you did in 2008.
8. Sit in silence for at least 10 minutes each day.
9. Sleep for 7 hours.
10. Take a 10-30 minutes walk daily. And while you walk, smile.

Personality:
11. Don't compare your life to others'. You have no idea what their journey is all about.
12. Don't have negative thoughts or things you cannot control. Instead invest your energy in the positive present moment.
13. Don't over do. Keep your limits..
14. Don't take yourself so seriously. No one else does.
15. Don't waste your precious energy on gossip.
16. Dream more while you are awake.
17. Envy is a waste of time. You already have all you need.
18. Forget issues of the past. Don't remind your partner with his/her mistakes of the past. That will ruin your present happiness.
19. Life is too short to waste time hating anyone. Don't hate others.
20. Make peace with your past so it won't spoil the present.
21. No one is in charge of your happiness except you.
22. Realize that life is a school and you are here to learn. Problems are simply part of the curriculum that appear and fade away like algebra class but the lessons you learn will last a lifetime.
23. Smile and laugh more.
24. You don't have to win every argument. Agree to disagree.

Society:
25. Call your family often.
26. Each day give something good to others.
27. Forgive everyone for everything.
28. Spend time w/ people over the age of 70 & under the age of 6
29. Try to make at least three people smile each day.
30. What other people think of you is none of your business.
31. Your job won't take care of you when you are sick. Your friends will. Stay in touch.

Life:
32. Do the right thing!
33. Get rid of anything that isn't useful, beautiful or joyful.
34. GOD heals everything.
35. However good or bad a situation is, it will change.
36. No matter how you feel, get up, dress up and show up.
37. The best is yet to come.
38. When you awake alive in the morning, thank GOD for it.
39. Your Inner most is always happy so, be happy.

Last but not the least:

40. Please Forward this to every one you care about (*_*)

Alone, we can do so little; together we can do so much. Helen Keller

It's Good to Be Back Again 566

It’s Good to Be Back Again

It has been quite frustrating trying to get back to you with Surfing with Jesus but I’m back. I want to thank all of you who wrote and I really appreciated your kind notes about Surfing with Jesus.

Wow! Where do I begin? Well perhaps the word is the best place. Join me in John 15:7-17.

7If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.

8Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples.

9As the Father hath loved me, so have I loved you: continue ye in my love.

10If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love.

11These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full.

12This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you.

13Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.

14Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you.

15Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you.

16Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.

17These things I command you, that ye love one another.

It is wonderful to remember God’s word and to allow it to direct our path even when we are apart from those we love. Abiding in Christ and his words abiding in us keeps us from all fear and all harm.

Doors open and doors close for us throughout life but it’s the fruit we bear while in that door that will last for Christ. I am so thankful you allow me in your door and I enjoy sharing the blessings and love of God with you.

When I’m unable to communicate with you I feel lost because almost eleven years ago God opened this door and I thank him for this avenue to share. Every prayer we pray together and every testimony we share helps someone in need of Jesus love.

Well, one door is closing for me on May 21, 2009. My teaching job working with young people at a local high school is among the cuts being made. God has allowed me to love these young people for nine years. I have worked with some sad situations but I’ve tried to bear fruit and encourage them to do better with their lives.

I’m so glad I’m at peace over this closed door. What door God will open next I do not know but I wait for his will and He will show me the way. I have had some hard days and many good days with these young people but God has given me the strength to endure.

What did Jesus say? I have chosen you and ordained you to bring forth fruit and that your fruit will remain. I want my fruit to remain and share Jesus with others. My desire is to love everyone God entrust me with and help them make it to heaven with me. What a day that will be when my Jesus I will see as I look upon His face and thank him for His saving grace.

Remember:

1John 1:9 “If we confess our sins he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”

My Heart Is Heavy #565

MY HEART IS HEAVY

I sit thinking and praying for request I have received and my heart is heavy because so many have needs in their life. I asked the Lord what I can do to encourage them as they face this struggle in their life. The Lord has directed me to send you to the word of God. Yes, take time for fellowship with the Lord in His word.

Many times I go to the Psalms because I find both tragedy and joy and most writing are easy reading. Take time away from all your worry and pain and allow God to comfort you with His word. I share Psalm 56 and 57 to encourage you today.

Psalm 56: A confident prayer for help.

1Be merciful unto me, O God: for man would swallow me up; he fighting daily oppresseth me.

2Mine enemies would daily swallow me up: for they be many that fight against me, O thou most High.

3What time I am afraid, I will trust in thee.

4In God I will praise his word, in God I have put my trust; I will not fear what flesh can do unto me.

5Every day they wrest my words: all their thoughts are against me for evil.

6They gather themselves together, they hide themselves, they mark my steps, when they wait for my soul.

7Shall they escape by iniquity? in thine anger cast down the people, O God.

8Thou tellest my wanderings: put thou my tears into thy bottle: are they not in thy book?

9When I cry unto thee, then shall mine enemies turn back: this I know; for God is for me.

10In God will I praise his word: in the LORD will I praise his word.

11In God have I put my trust: I will not be afraid what man can do unto me.

12Thy vows are upon me, O God: I will render praises unto thee.

13For thou hast delivered my soul from death: wilt not thou deliver my feet from falling, that I may walk before God in the light of the living?

Psalm 57 A Prayer for deliverance.

1Be merciful unto me, O God, be merciful unto me: for my soul trusteth in thee: yea, in the shadow of thy wings will I make my refuge, until these calamities be overpast.

2I will cry unto God most high; unto God that performeth all things for me.

3He shall send from heaven, and save me from the reproach of him that would swallow me up. Selah. God shall send forth his mercy and his truth.

4My soul is among lions: and I lie even among them that are set on fire, even the sons of men, whose teeth are spears and arrows, and their tongue a sharp sword.

5Be thou exalted, O God, above the heavens; let thy glory be above all the earth.

6They have prepared a net for my steps; my soul is bowed down: they have digged a pit before me, into the midst whereof they are fallen themselves. Selah.

7My heart is fixed, O God, my heart is fixed: I will sing and give praise.

8Awake up, my glory; awake, psaltery and harp: I myself will awake early.

9I will praise thee, O Lord, among the people: I will sing unto thee among the nations.

10For thy mercy is great unto the heavens, and thy truth unto the clouds.

11Be thou exalted, O God, above the heavens: let thy glory be above all the earth.

There are those of you who are wrestling with family problems with your children, your spouse, your parents, your in-laws, spiritual battles, physical needs, mental needs, financial needs and I could go on and on but what you need is to take God at his word and lean on Him.

Lord I place the many needs on my heart tonight in your hands and ask you to intercede and intervene for each family in Jesus name I pray. I love you folks and lift you up in prayer each day.
