ALL THE WAY

“All the way, all the way, I’ll be willing Lord to run all the way.” An old song you younglings have perhaps never heard. How willing are we today to run all the way? When one accepts the Lord they are on fire and willing to go anywhere. New converts are exciting as they share what God has done for them.

My wife tells the story of her desire to go and do whatever but she thought the Lord knew she meant right here in her home town. Little did she or I know it meant going several other places in our lives.

I often ask myself Lord am I willing to go all the way as I was in the past? I want to think I am willing but one does have to stop and check sometimes. My precious mother even talked to me in recent years about her wondering if she was doing all God expects of her.

I think it is good to stop and think about it but we should not allow ourselves to dwell on the thought and not take action when God leads us. Life on earth is too short to want to fail to be willing to go all the way. Another old song says “Where He leads me I will follow.” Lord help me today to be ready and willing to go all the way where ever you may lead.

As we see our world getting into the tragic shape that the Bible tells us will happen before the Lord returns it makes me want to seek God with all my heart and be ready to go.

Joel 2:28 tells us about the day of the Lord when he will pour out his spirit. Read with me.

And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions:

Peter quoted this passage in Acts 2:16-21. It took place on the day of Pentecost. Joel visualized this time when it would be available to every believer. And I want you to know God’s spirit is available to anyone who calls upon the Lord.

We need God’s spirit to lead us and guide us as we seek his face. With his spirit we will be equipped to go all the way. So in closing I cry out with Joel when he wrote Joel 2:1 Blow ye the trumpet in Zion, and sound an alarm in my holy mountain: let all the inhabitants of the land tremble: for the day of the Lord cometh, for it is neigh at hand. Folks” I’m too near my heavenly home to turn back now.”

If you need Jesus, confess your sins, as the closing verse each week shares he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

REMEMBER

“If we confess our sins he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” 1John 1:9

COMMONSENSE #69406272011

An Obituary printed in the London Times

- Interesting and sadly rather true.

COMMON SENSE

Today we mourn the passing of a beloved old friend, Common Sense, who has been with us for many years. No one knows for sure how old he was, since his birth records were long ago lost in bureaucratic red tape. He will be remembered as having cultivated such valuable lessons as:
- Knowing when to come in out of the rain;
- Why the early bird gets the worm;
- Life isn't always fair;
- and Maybe it was my fault.

Common Sense lived by simple, sound financial policies (don't spend more than you can earn) and reliable strategies (adults, not children, are in charge).

His health began to deteriorate rapidly when well-intentioned but overbearing regulations were set in place. Reports of a 6-year-old boy charged with sexual harassment for kissing a classmate; teens suspended from school for using mouthwash after lunch; and a teacher fired for reprimanding an unruly student, only worsened his condition.

Common Sense lost ground when parents attacked teachers for doing the job that they themselves had failed to do in disciplining their unruly children.

It declined even further when schools were required to get parental consent to administer sun lotion or an aspirin to a student; but could not inform parents when a student became pregnant and wanted to have an abortion.

Common Sense lost the will to live as the churches became greedy businesses; and criminals received better treatment than their victims.

Common Sense took a beating when you couldn't defend yourself from a burglar in your own home and the burglar could sue you for assault.

Common Sense finally gave up the will to live, after a woman failed to realize that a steaming cup of coffee was hot. She spilled a little in her lap, and was promptly awarded a huge settlement.

Common Sense was preceded in death, by his parents, Truth and Trust, by his wife, Discretion, by his daughter, Responsibility, and by his son, Reason.

He is survived by his 4 stepbrothers;
I Know My Rights
I Want It Now
Someone Else Is To Blame
I'm A Victim

Not many attended his funeral because so few realized he was gone. If you still remember him, pass this on. If not, join the majority and do nothing.

As we share the word of God with folks today I wonder how many more would be won by using Common Sense as the Spirit of God leads us.

REMEMBER

“If we confess our sins he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” 1John 1:9

YES, IT IS FATHER’S DAY 2011

Are you blessed to have a living Father? Do you love him? Have you taken time to tell him? If you are so blessed take this day to thank him and share your love for him. I was blessed with a God fearing loving father. I am so thankful he took time to teach me about Jesus. My goal is to teach my children to love and care for our heavenly father and share his love with others.

Today when I pray I say good morning Lord, good morning dad, good morning mom. This is my first Father’s Day with them being together with Jesus. I have missed dad for 26 years and now mom has joined him.

What is a Father? What is a Dad? Men can become fathers but it takes a lot of love and care to become a dad. It’s so sad when I hear someone share they had a father but never had a dad.

Men, God would have you be more than a father to your children. He would have you be a dad that leads them and guides them in their life to know what is right and wrong and to know God created them to love him.

As a dad I have made mistakes but my goal and my desire is to always do what is best for my children. I wasn’t born a perfect dad and even though I try to be a good one I am subject to failure. Sometimes as a dad we even have to ask forgiveness and our children need to see this side of us.

How long has it been since you told your dad you love him? I was in my thirties before I really learned this I think. I’m so thankful I can say both of my children have told me this week that they love me. I tried to teach them this lesson because I saw how much it meant to my dad when I learned to do it.

If it is possible take time today to tell your dad you love him. I know men this doesn’t seem manly but it is important and you will never regret it. If you are like me I will have to look around to tell someone happy Father’s Day this year. My dad is gone and several of my spiritual dads have gone to heaven but I know there is someone I can wish a Happy Father’s Day to. Will you join me in being so kind to someone today? It is important to them and you will be surprised at the response you get. HAPPY FATHER’S DAY!

INTERCESSION #69206172011

INTERCESSION

Exodus 32: 9-14

9And the LORD said unto Moses, I have seen this people, and, behold, it is a stiffnecked people:

10Now therefore let me alone, that my wrath may wax hot against them, and that I may consume them: and I will make of thee a great nation.

11And Moses besought the LORD his God, and said, LORD, why doth thy wrath wax hot against thy people, which thou hast brought forth out of the land of Egypt with great power, and with a mighty hand?

12Wherefore should the Egyptians speak, and say, For mischief did he bring them out, to slay them in the mountains, and to consume them from the face of the earth? Turn from thy fierce wrath, and repent of this evil against thy people.

13Remember Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, thy servants, to whom thou swarest by thine own self, and saidst unto them, I will multiply your seed as the stars of heaven, and all this land that I have spoken of will I give unto your seed, and they shall inherit it for ever.

14And the LORD repented of the evil which he thought to do unto his people.

If Israel was stiff necked I wonder what our world is today. We often pray come now Lord Jesus and then we look around us and see there are so many yet in the need of the mercy of God who are without Jesus.

Lord help me make intercession for souls as Moses did for your people in the wilderness. We too have family and friends dying without you and in need of your love. Lord help me reach out to them and share your love so they may not be lost.

Don’t give up on those you are praying for, continue to seek God that they may be saved and shun hell. My wife often says when she burns herself with a candle or at the stove “If this is just a touch of what hell will be like I don’t want to go there.”

Pastor Cecil said in a recent writing as he shared “Use Me Dear Lord” “Blessings dear heart. Draw near to God today, trust Him completely and be a blessing.” I close with what he shared. I think it hits the nail on the head.

USE ME DEAR LORD

Lord, here I am to be used for you;

Give me the task You’d have me to do.

I am only a vessel made of clay,

Seeking to follow always in Your pathway.

Take me Lord, and use me today;

In your most unique and special way.

I serve You faithfully to share Your love;

That others may see what their hearts are made of.

Help me To reach what they were truly made for;

That then they may say.

Use Me Dear Lord.
