PURITY - WORK AT YOUR FAITH

12Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.

13For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.

As you have always obeyed. Can you say you have always obeyed the Lord?

George McDonald said, “I find the doing of the will of God leaves me no time for disputing (or complaining) about His plans.”

Disputing with God about His plans for our lives is a matter of disobedience. When God’s Word is clear there should be no disputing, no arguing, and no hesitation. WE MUST OBEY.

Someone wrote: It is not the dog’s keen smell or hearing that has endeared him to modern man; it’s his uncomplaining readiness to obey and lavish affection on his human friends. An old saying goes, “To his dog, every man is Napoleon.”

“A dog is loyal, loving, and lovable, even if his master can boast none of these qualities. The Prussian monarch Frederick the Great hit it on the head: “The more I see of men, the better I like my dog. “

Some missionary admired a native’s dog when he whistled and it came running. The missionary said, “Your dog is all ear.”

I wonder if God wishes that we were “All ear” and would come running at His every command.

GOD’S GRACE

All of us know the need of God’s grace. It is so wonderful as a child of God to know we can come to him and his arms are wide open to give us a hug and let us sit on his lap for a spell until we feel secure to carry on with our life. My friend Fran shared this and yes I have seen it many times but someone needs it again so I share it today. If you are not a child of God today is a great time to repent of your sins, receive him and know the joy of his grace. It is the greatest decision you will ever make.

I wonder how many people will delete this without reading it because of the title. It is a shame but this message is very true. Hope you are all as blessed as I was by this story.

There once was a man named George Thomas, preacher in a small Texas town. One Sunday morning he came to the Church building carrying a rusty, bent, old bird cage, and set it by the pulpit. Eyebrows were raised and, as if in response, the Preacher began to speak. . . .

"I was walking through town yesterday when I saw a young boy coming toward me swinging this bird cage. On the bottom of the cage were three little wild birds, shivering with cold and fright.

I stopped the lad and asked, "What do you have there, son?"

"Just some old birds," came the reply.

"What are you going to do with them?" I asked.

"Take 'em home and have fun with 'em," he answered. "I'm gonna tease 'em and pull out their feathers to make 'em fight. I'm gonna have a real good time."

"But you'll get tired of those birds sooner or later. What will you do then?"

"Oh, I got some cats," said the little boy. "They like birds. I'll take 'em to them."

The preacher was silent for a moment. "How much do you want for those birds, son?"

"Huh??!!! Why, you don't want them birds, mister. They’re just plain old field birds. They don't sing. They ain't even pretty!"

"How much?" the preacher asked again.

The boy sized up the preacher as if he were crazy and said, "$10?"

The preacher reached in his pocket and took out a ten dollar bill. He placed it in the boy's hand. In a flash, the boy was gone. The preacher picked up the cage and gently carried it to the end of the alley where there was a tree and a grassy spot. Setting the cage down, he opened the door, and by softly tapping the bars persuaded the birds out, letting them free. Well, that explained the empty bird cage on the pulpit, and then the preacher began to tell this story:

One day Satan and Jesus were having a conversation. Satan had just come from the Garden of Eden, and he was gloating and boasting. "Yes, sir, I just caught a world full of people down there. Set me a trap, used bait I knew they couldn't resist. Got 'em all!"

"What are you going to do with them?" Jesus asked.

Satan replied, "Oh, I'm gonna have fun! I'm gonna teach them how to marry and divorce each other, how to hate and abuse each other, how to drink and smoke and curse. I'm gonna teach them how to invent guns and bombs and kill each other. I'm really gonna have fun!"

"And what will you do when you are done with them?"

Jesus asked.. "Oh, I'll kill 'em," Satan glared proudly.

"How much do you want for them?" Jesus asked.

"Oh, you don't want those people. They ain't no good. Why, you'll take them and they'll just hate you. They'll spit on you, curse you and kill you. You don't want those people!!"

"How much? He asked again.

Satan looked at Jesus and sneered, "All your blood, tears and your life."

Jesus said, "DONE!" Then He paid the price.

The preacher picked up the cage and walked from the pulpit.

I pray, for everyone who sends this on, whether to their entire address book or just a few, that God will bless them in a special way.

And for those that just deleted it......... And I KNOW there will be......?

WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO?

I thank God everyday for my blessed life. I'm not rich, don't live in a mansion and don't have the nicest of material things, but, I have a roof over my head, clothes on my back, food on my table, a family that loves me and lifelong friends to get me through. I'd say I have a lot to be thankful for.

AND THEN IT IS WINTER…IT’S BEAUTIFUL

You know, time has a way of moving quickly and catching you unaware of the passing years. It seems just yesterday that I was young, just married, and embarking on my new life with my mate. And yet, in a way, it seems long ago, and I wonder where all the years went. I know that I lived them all; I have glimpses of how it was back then and of all my hopes and dreams. But, here it is, the winter of my life, and it catches me by surprise! How did I get here so fast? Where did the years go and when did my youth vanish?

I remember well, seeing older people through my life and thinking that those older people were years away from me and that winter was so far away. I could not fathom it or imagine fully what it would be like! But, here it is! My friends are retired and already grey; they move slower. When I look at an older person now, I see that some are in better shape than I am and some, worse. I see great changes; not like the ones that I remember who were young and vibrant but, like me, their age clearly shows and we are now those older folks that we used to see and never thought we'd be.

Each day now, I find that just taking a shower is a target for the day! And taking a nap is not just a treat anymore.... it's mandatory! If I don't of my own free will ... I just fall asleep where I sit! So, now I enter into this new season of my life unprepared for all the aches and pains and the loss of strength and ability to go and do things that I wish I had done but, never did! At least I know, that though winter has come and I'm not sure how long it will last, this I recognize, that when it's over.... it’s over!

Yes, I have regrets. There are things I wish I hadn't done, things I should have done, and, indeed, there are many things I'm happy to have done. It's all wrapped up in a lifetime of living!

So, if you're not in your winter yet, let me remind you that it will be here faster than you think! Whatever you would like to accomplish in your life, please, do it quickly! Don't put things off too long! Life goes by so fast. Do what you must today, as you're never sure whether this is your ‘winter’ or not! You have no promise that you will see all the seasons of your life! So, live today and say all the things that you want your loved ones to remember and hope that they appreciate and love you for everything that you have done for them in all the years past!

"Life is a gift to you; the way you live your life is your gift to those who come after you. Make it a fantastic one."

LIVE IT WELL!

ENJOY TODAY!

DO SOMETHING FUN!

BE HAPPY! BE THANKFUL!

HAVE A GREAT DAY!

Remember "It is health that is real wealth and not pieces of gold or silver."

HOLY BIBLE VS CELL PHONE #73001162012

HOLY BIBLE VS CELL PHONE

Ever wonder what would happen if we treated our Bible like we treat our cell phone?

What if we carried it around in our purses or pockets?

What if we flipped through it several times a day?

What if we turned back to go get it if we forgot it?

What if we used it to receive messages from the text?

What if we treated it like we couldn't live without it?

What if we gave it to Kids as gifts?

What if we used it when we traveled?

What if we used it in case of emergency?

This is something to make you go....hmm...where is my Bible?
Oh, and one more thing.

Unlike our cell phone, we don't have to worry about our Bible being
disconnected because Jesus already paid the bill.

Makes you stop and think 'where are my priorities? And no dropped calls!

When Jesus died on the cross, he was thinking of you!
