When you want to learn more about God                                  Read Psalm 24
When you want to understand yourself more clearly            Read Psalm 8
When you want to know how to come to God each day       Read Psalm 5
When you want to be forgiving of your sins                             Read Psalm 51
When you want to feel worthwhile                                              Read Psalm 139
When you want to understand why you should                     Read Psalm 119
read the Bible
When you want to give praise to God                                        Read Psalm 145
When you want to know that God is in control                        Read Psalm 146
When you want to give thanks to God                                       Read Psalm 136
When you want to please God                                                     Read Psalm 15
When you want to know why you should worship God       Read Psalm 104

God’s word was written to be studied, understood, and applied, and the book of Psalms lends itself most directly to application. We understand Psalms best when we “stand under” them and allow them to flow over us like a rain shower. We may turn to Psalms looking for something, but sooner or later we will meet Someone. As we read and memorize the psalms, we will gradually discover how much they are already part of us. They put into words our deepest hurts, longings, thoughts, and prayers. They gently push us toward being what God designed us to be people loving and living for him.

I used these thoughts on June 10, 1990 while pastoring Eastview COGOP. I took this outline from Tyndale’s Life Application Bible and find them still to be real and true today. Put it in your Bible, post it on your refrigerator, put it on your bulletin board but most of all post it in your heart and allow it to help you on your journey with Christ.

WHAT A DAY #77811252012

WHAT A DAY

Yesterday we attended a local event at our Court House and enjoyed gospel singing, fellowship, and food of course. This is being held by local citizens and organizations to include churches of all kinds. Sharon Foskey led the event and did a wonderful job as she collected food and clothing for the homeless. It is being called God’s Work Rally.

It was heart lifting as one after another of the homeless would come hug Sharon and tell her they loved her. She knew what that meant because she was once homeless herself.

So, as I arose this morning this song was on my mind. Sing it with me and thank the Lord for the hope we have of his return one day. What a day that will be, it will be a glorious day and if you know Jesus as your personal Savior you will be caught up in the air to be with him for evermore.

There is coming a day,
When no heart aches shall come,
No more clouds in the sky,
No more tears to dim the eye,
All is peace forever more,
On that happy golden shore,
What a day, glorious day that will be.

What a day that will be,
When my Jesus I shall see,
And I look upon His face,
The One who saved me by His grace;
When He takes me by the hand,
And leads me through the Promised Land,
What a day, glorious day that will be.

There'll be no sorrow there,
No more burdens to bear,
No more sickness, no pain,
No more parting over there;
And forever I will be,
With the One who died for me,
What a day, glorious day that will be.

What a day that will be,
When my Jesus I shall see,
And I look upon His face,
The One who saved me by His grace;
When He takes me by the hand,
And leads me through the Promised Land,
What a day, glorious day that will be

THE ELECTION IS OVER,
WE CAN STILL GUARANTEE THESE RESULTS

1.  God will still be on His throne

2.  Jesus will still be King of kings and Lord of lords.

3.  The Bible will still have all the answers to every
problem

4.  The tomb will still be empty

5.  Jesus will still be the only way to heaven

6.  Prayer will still work – it will still make a difference and God will answer prayer

7.  The cross, not the government, will still be our salvation

8.  There will still be room at the cross

9.  Jesus will still save anyone who places their faith and trust in Him

10. God will still be with us always – He will never leave or forsake us

I found this on FB and liked it. I pray Lord will send revival to our Nation and start the work in me.
